"Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world all at once, but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach."
-Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés
TL;DR
I like to blend psychoanalytic oriented thinking with somatic & relational therapies. And I have a really cute cat.
Prior to private practice I worked at Hospice of Santa Cruz County, providing grief support to adults and youth. During this time I completed and published my graduate thesis work on the topic of somatic and depth-oriented approaches to grief therapy.
My additional clinical work includes The Camp Recovery Center where I provided individual and group therapy for Veteran clients in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) addressing co-occurring disorders such as Substance Use and PTSD, as well as at Counseling and Support Services for Youth (CASSY) partnered with Saratoga Elementary School, where I offered individual and group therapy to students grades TK-5.
In addition to my clinical training I have extensive experience as an educator, working with hundreds of children and families over the course of my career. This has given me a deep appreciation for education, social services, and the essential need for community and connection. If you’d like to hire me to come teach or speak to your group, please review my services and contact me to see how I can help.
Outside of my work, I often spend time in nature, traveling, reading, dancing, and cuddling up with my 17-year old kitty Bella.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Los Gatos, California.
I work especially well with thoughtful, curious people who lean towards growth (or want to!) even in the midst of uncertainty, pain or ruptures in their relationships. I help you identify how relational trauma you experienced in your formative years are influencing you now in adulthood.
Taking a psychoanalytic approach, I blend somatic and relationally-oriented therapies into my practice. I welcome adults, teens and couples of all identities who are ready and eager to break cycles and start their therapeutic journey.
I received my Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling, and Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2022. Additionally, I have trained in Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychology, a body-centered approach, and maintain ongoing practice groups led by Scott Eaton, LMFT and Manuela Mischke-Reeds, LMFT.
I was recently selected to join the Palo Alto Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program (PAPPTP) Fellowship Year, located at Stanford University, for the 2024-2025 season. I participate in regular, ongoing consultation with Hugh Grubb, PsyD, a supervising analyst with the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California (PINC).
Professional development trainings and workshops I have taken over the years are too numerous to list here, however some include: Innate Somatic Intelligence™ Trauma Therapy Approach (ISITTA) with Manuela Mischke-Reeds, LMFT and founder of Embodywise, Structural Family Therapy with Cara Brendler, LCSW of the Minuchin Center for the Family, and The Psychodynamics of Diagnosis, Case Formulation, and Supervision with Nancy McWilliams, PhD, ABPP.
